Allianz Pacesetters 4 x 3km 2018 was a great success

A strong field of 256 teams took part in the Allianz Pacesetters 4 x 3km 2018 on the morning of 3rd November at the Perdana Botanic Garden Kuala Lumpur.

Allianz Malaysia Bhd (through their member companies; Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Bhd and Allianz Life Insurance Malaysia Bhd) was the title sponsor for the fifth consecutive year. Organised by Pacesetters Athletic Club, a local running club formed in 1984, the Allianz Pacesetters 4x3km 2018 featured five different categories; Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Mixed Open, Under 26 Mixed and Kiwanis Pace-It-Forward (Mixed). The event attracted strong support from the corporate sector besides the regular running enthusiasts.

In the Men’s Open, Iron River 2.0 emerged as champion with a time of 39.01 mins, the only team to run under 40 minutes.

The corporate social responsibility objective was achieved when we grossed RM27,000 for the Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation through donations in the Kiwanis Pace It Forward category.  Over the last five years, the event has raised a total of RM222,000 for the foundation, which is a non-profit organization with tax-exempt status. It is committed to the welfare of children with Down Syndrome, its main focus being the education of these children aged below 6 years. (www.kdsf.org.my)

Munning Jamaludin, the race director said, “Our mission is to promote health, fitness and bonding in a team event, while supporting the Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation as part of the club’s corporate social responsibility.”

Ultron is the official apparel while Nestle supported the event through their two branded products, Milo and Nestle Fitnesse.
