Training for SCKL Marathon is on again

We are pleased to inform you that Pacesetter will be running the PAC Peer Support Program again in 2018.

Whether you are training for the 42km, 21km, 10km or even Fun Run for the upcoming Standard Chartered KL Marathon in April 2018 - we will be having our training runs every Sunday, beginning 7 January 2018.  We will announce further details in due course.

In the meantime, volunteers are welcomed to help with pacing, sweeping and at water stations. If you have personally benefited from the program last year and would like to give back, please message me (012 265 7811), Sunny Lee (‭019 213 6685‬) or any of the exco directly. We appreciate any support we can get!

Danny Chang conquers the 250km Gobi March

The Gobi March is one of 4 endurance races of 4 Deserts, a series of very tough trail races.

Danny prepared meticulously and trained hard for the 250km 6 day challenge. The build up of training led him to complete "the Standard Chartered Full Marathon with another 10kg pack and finishing inside 5 hours and knew the training regime was taking shape nicely".

Allianz Pacesetters Relay goes smoothly

The rain held off until after the run was over, so it was a great morning for the excited runners. A total of 281 teams registered, 265 picked up their batons and 262 teams completed the race.

The race was won by Team Nike Malaysia comprising Prabudass a/l Krishnan (current SEA Games 5,000 meters silver medalist),Shaharudin Hashim (ex national marathoner), Thevan a/l Rajoo and Loh Chwan Chyin in 44 minutes 14 seconds. So, no surprise there!

Congratulations to our Under 26 Mixed and Women Open teams, both named Pacesetters Malaysia for coming in 1st in their categories.

Under 26 Mixed team of Loh, Allison Yee, Lee Wen Jun and Daniel Lai

Women Open team of Lian Bee Hoon, Mei Wee, Ho Kah Mun and Audrey Ong

2nd placed Mixed team of Kenny Wong, Goh Jing Jing, Chooi Fern and Ronnie See

3rd runner up Men Open team of  Khairul Izwan, Asdi Weding, Goh Shu Wei and Ng Guo Shen

4th runner up Mixed team of Ryan Chiew, Jia Wen, Liew KY and Jiun Pan

There was strong participation from companies. This is a fun and healthy way to do an outing. Notable are Allianz, which registered 34 teams, Experian, 35 and Mah Sing, 15. In total, companies registered at least 116 teams, of which 37 were in the Kiwanis Pace it Forward (higher priced) category.

Many thanks to the club's committee members and volunteers. Many were at site yesterday until evening to set up the venue. They were then back this morning before 5am to make sure things went smoothly and of course, they stayed back after many of us left, to tie things up.
